This project was up at the top of the list of my favorite projects. My final image didn't turn out as good as I had hoped it would but I still think that it looks kind of cool. First I went on to Google and typed in simple printmaking ideas and I found a picture of a linoleum block with two birds on it. I decided that I would simplify that design and do it for my project. I used one of the birds instead of both and I added a heart on it. When it came to the actual steps of printing I was pretty stressed. I was either getting to much ink or not enough. Out of the 13 prints that I had in my opinion only two decent ones.
Aubrey, I loved your design idea. The bird was really cute and I liked the chatter in the background! I think we had the same problem...something just didn't go right with my prints either. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. But, I think the print above is really good!

I really liked how you did chatter around your bird. It really looks like rain or something.
Hello, Aubrey!
My name is Faith Kennedy and I am a senior college student at the University of South Alabama. Each week in my EDM310 class we are assigned to a another student’s blogpost to read and comment on and this week I was assigned to your blogpost. Great post! I've taken a good bit of art classes during my college years and print making has actually been one of my favorite things I have learned. I agree with you, it can definitely be challenging or frustrating, but I promise, once you get the hang of it, it can be really fun to do with fewer frustrations. I like your bird design, too. It's simple but still fun and artistic.
